Basically it’s been terrific. I can’t believe the improvement in everything from day to day operations to increased sales results.

Benefits to date are:

Increased sales.  Our customers order more frequently as they can see the live stock list and updates.  Also, suppliers can respond more quickly to sales and re-supply stock faster, again increasing sales.

Increased stock availability.  Our customers now have visibility to all stock ex O/S warehouse, so effectively this has made a virtual warehouse containing this stock in transit. We currently hold more variety and have improved availability if stock in the same size warehouse.

Increased though-put efficiency.  Since our customers are now ordering stock in transit, once it arrives, we dispatch directly from the container, saving handling and storage.

Improved supplier relations. All our suppliers have been given access to stock levels of their stock in our warehouse, complete with desired minimum and maximum stock levels. They determine reorder amounts and pack containers accordingly, with only minor guidance from me!

Securing loyal suppliers.  I have managed to secure area exclusivity from some O/S suppliers that are so impressed with the online system, as they too can track sales and better plan their production. Many suppliers are now producing stock solely using the information provided by the Online WebB2B system.

Instant back ordering.  Our retail customers are in instant contact with the manufacturers, since any order placed for stock, which is out of stock, is immediately visible to the manufacturer. They then fill this order on the next container as a priority. They can watch their product sell day to day!

Reduced stock holding of slow moving items.  I have reduced, and in some cases to nil, the local stock holding of some slow moving items, since the time between backordering from the customer to the supplier delivering has been reduced.

Reduction in erroneous orders.  Since customers order directly from the Exonet/Online WebB2B system, there are no re-keying order errors.

Saved time.  Absolutely heaps of time saved from not having to process orders received via fax, phone, email etc, to time saved in calculating thousands of stock items.

Better customer relationships.  My customers have been very impressed with the online system, and I have noticed increased market share over our competitors, as the online system has made working with us so simple.

Increased customers.  I now have customers as far away as Melbourne using this online system, and have secured many new customers in WA, proving it’s also business methodology and service, not just price, that can drive sales.
